How to enable autostart (by brand):

🔸 Xiaomi / Redmi

  1. Go to: Settings > Apps > Manage apps

  2. Find and tap WebLink Host

  3. Tap Autostart

  4. Toggle ON

🔸 OPPO / Realme

  1. Go to: Settings > App Management > WebLink Host

  2. Tap Battery usage

  2. Tap App launch

  3. Disable “Manage automatically”

  4. Manually enable:

    • Auto-launch

    • Secondary launch

    • Run in background

🔸 Vivo

  1. Go to: Settings > Battery > High background power consumption

  2. Enable WebLink Host

  3. Go to: iManager > App startup manager

  4. Toggle WebLink Host to Allow

Still unsure which settings apply to your device?
Contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com, and we’ll guide you step-by-step.

These two settings may sound similar, but they control different things—and both can affect how WebLink works on your phone.

Battery Optimization

This setting tells your phone whether it’s allowed to automatically restrict apps to save power.

  • When ON: Your phone may close WebLink in the background or limit its functions (like Cast or USB detection).

  • When OFF / Not optimized: WebLink can stay active when needed, even if you’re not interacting with your phone.

To disable:
Go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > WebLink Host > Don't optimize

Background Activity

This setting allows WebLink to keep running even when the app is not on screen.

  • If disabled, your phone may pause or shut down WebLink in the background, leading to unexpected disconnections.

To enable:
Go to: Settings > Apps > WebLink Host > Battery > Allow background activity

For best performance:
Turn Battery Optimization OFF
and make sure Background Activity is ON

Audio & Sound Issues

If you’re not hearing any sound while using WebLink Cast, it’s often due to either Bluetooth settings, app limitations, or device-specific configurations. Below are some common reasons and how to fix them:

1. Check Bluetooth Audio Output

WebLink Cast requires Bluetooth to transmit audio from your phone to your vehicle.

  • Make sure your phone is paired and connected via Bluetooth to your car’s system.

  • On your vehicle screen, confirm Bluetooth is selected as the audio source (not USB or Radio).

  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth if audio still doesn’t play.

2. Some Apps Mute When Casting

Certain apps (like YouTube or streaming services) may disable audio while casting due to content protection rules.

  • Try switching to a different app (like Music Player or Waze) to check if audio works there.

  • If other apps work, the issue is likely app-specific and not a WebLink issue.

3. Phone Volume Settings

  • Ensure your media volume is turned up on your phone.

  • Avoid using Silent Mode or Do Not Disturb, which may block audio output.

4. For iOS Users:

If audio isn’t working even when Bluetooth is connected:

  • Open Control Center

  • Tap the AirPlay icon (now Playing section)

  • Ensure your car is selected as the audio output device

Still not working?

Try restarting both your phone and head unit, then relaunch WebLink Cast.
If the issue persists, please contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone model and vehicle details so we can assist further.

The Apple Music app on iOS does not support WebLink Cast due to Apple’s system-level restrictions and content protection policies.

Why this happens:

  • Apple Music is a native iOS app with built-in Digital Rights Management (DRM).

  • iOS blocks screen mirroring or casting of certain apps—including Apple Music—to external displays for copyright and privacy reasons.

  • This behavior is controlled by iOS, not by WebLink, and affects all casting apps (not just ours).

What you can do instead:

  • Use Bluetooth audio to play Apple Music through your vehicle speakers (without using Cast).

  • Or, try a supported music app within WebLink—such as:

    • Music Player (for local music)

    • ShoutCast

    • YouTube (if music videos are acceptable)

If you need help finding compatible apps or setting up music playback, feel free to contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com. We’re happy to assist!

If your audio stops working after a phone call while using WebLink Cast, it’s usually caused by a temporary interruption in the Bluetooth connection between your phone and vehicle.

Step-by-step fix:

  1. End the phone call completely

    • Wait a few seconds after hanging up to allow the system to recover.

  2. Manually reconnect Bluetooth

    • On your phone, go to: Settings > Bluetooth

    • If your vehicle shows “Connected for calls only,” tap it and reconnect for Media Audio

  3. Switch audio source and switch back

    • On your vehicle, temporarily change the source (e.g., switch to Radio), then back to Bluetooth Audio or WebLink

  4. Restart WebLink Cast

    • Close and reopen the WebLink Host app

    • Tap Cast again from the vehicle screen

Still not working?

  • Restart your phone and vehicle display

  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled for both calls and media

  • If it continues, you may want to “Forget Device” under Bluetooth settings, then re-pair your phone with the vehicle

If this issue happens frequently, please contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone and vehicle model. We’re happy to investigate further!

If Bluetooth fallback audio isn’t working while using WebLink Cast, it usually means your phone isn’t routing media audio to your vehicle’s Bluetooth system correctly. This feature is essential for hearing sound when casting apps like YouTube or ShoutCast.

What to check:

  1. Confirm Bluetooth is connected for Media

    • On your phone, go to: Settings > Bluetooth

    • Tap your vehicle’s name

    • Make sure Media Audio is toggled ON

  2. Change the vehicle’s source

    • On your vehicle’s screen, switch to Bluetooth Audio as the source
(not USB, Radio, or WebLink alone)

  3. Re-launch WebLink Cast

    • Fully close the WebLink Host app

    • Reopen it and tap Cast again from your vehicle screen

  4. Restart both devices

    • Restart your phone and vehicle display

    • Reconnect via Bluetooth before trying WebLink Cast again

Additional tips:

  • On iOS, swipe down to open Control Center, tap the AirPlay icon, and manually select your car as the output

  • On Android, toggle Bluetooth OFF/ON once, then reopen WebLink

  • If you’re using a third-party head unit, ensure it’s updated to the latest firmware version

If fallback audio still doesn’t work, please contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone model, OS version, and vehicle details so we can help troubleshoot.

Video, Display & Calibration Issues

When WebLink Cast is active, touch calibration can sometimes trigger long-press behavior on the iPhone, causing app icons to “wiggle” as if you’re trying to rearrange them.
This usually happens if AssistiveTouch gestures are set to ON, which can simulate a long press instead of a quick tap.

Fix:

  • Go to: Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch

  • Tap Perform Touch Gestures

  • Set to OFF for more responsive tapping and to avoid triggering icon movement

If the issue persists, please email us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com and include your phone model so we can assist you further.

If you see a message like “WebLink calibration failed” or “WebLink Cast failed to load”, this may be caused by:

  • Incomplete permission setup (especially on Android)

  • Interference from battery optimization or background restrictions

  • OS compatibility issues (especially on Android 14 or newer)

Fixes to try:

  • Fully close and relaunch WebLink Host

  • Ensure all permissions are granted (Accessibility + Notification Access)

  • Disable battery optimization and allow background activity

  • Try restarting both your phone and vehicle head unit

Still having trouble? Reach out to us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone model and we’ll help you from there.

Zooming, swiping, or pinch gestures may be limited due to:

  • Touch input calibration issues (especially on Android 14+)

  • App-specific restrictions (e.g., some video apps do not allow zoom)

  • iOS AssistiveTouch gesture mode being enabled

Try this:

  • On iPhone: Set AssistiveTouch → Perform Touch Gestures to OFF

  • On Android: Update WebLink Host to the latest version and ensure casting permissions are fully granted

  • Restart the vehicle and try again

For continued issues, contact our support team at weblink_support@abaltatech.com and let us know your phone model for tailored help.

Some Android 14 and 15 devices—particularly non-Samsung models—experience limited or unresponsive touch in Cast mode due to changes in the OS’s accessibility services.

Tips:

  • Make sure Accessibility and Notification Access are both enabled for WebLink Host

  • Use a high-quality USB cable that supports data

  • Update WebLink Host and your Android OS to the latest version

  • If issues continue, contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone model for further guidance

App-Specific Issues

The Weather app requires location permissions and a stable data connection to display forecast data.

Please check:

  • Location is set to “Allow While Using App”

  • Your phone has internet access (mobile data or Wi-Fi)

  • Battery optimization is disabled for WebLink Host

If the issue continues, please email us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com with your phone model and OS version so we can assist.

The WebLink Music app only shows music stored locally on your phone. It does not support streaming music (like Spotify or Apple Music).

Please check:

  • Music files are saved directly on your device (not in the cloud)

  • WebLink Host has permission to access Media & Files

  • For iOS users, ensure Media & Apple Music access is granted

Still not seeing your music? Contact weblink_support@abaltatech.com and we’ll help review your setup.

This could be due to background restrictions or battery optimizations unique to Oppo’s ColorOS.

Fix:

  • Go to: Settings > Battery > App Battery Management

  • Set WebLink Host to “No restrictions”

  • Also enable Autostart and Background Activity

If the problem persists, please reach out to weblink_support@abaltatech.com and let us know your device model and Android version.

Live videos are not currently supported in WebLink Cast due to streaming restrictions and app limitations.

You can still:

  • Watch regular YouTube videos

  • Use YouTube directly on your phone and listen via Bluetooth Audio as a fallback

If you’d like help finding alternative apps or workarounds, contact us at weblink_support@abaltatech.com.

Some third-party links (like YouTube or Google Maps) may not launch properly inside WebLink Browser, especially if:

  • The default app is not set

  • Background data is restricted

  • There are compatibility issues with embedded links

Try:

  • Opening links directly from the app (YouTube or Maps within WebLink Cast)

  • Disabling battery optimization and enabling background data for WebLink Host

If issues continue, let us know at weblink_support@abaltatech.com so we can troubleshoot further.

Some Pixel devices, including Pixel 6 and later, have a unique feature that allows them to connect to two WiFi networks simultaneously. This may lead to unexpected disconnections from WebLink. This behavior is a limitation of the Pixel’s dual WiFi feature and is not caused by WebLink itself. To prevent potential disconnections, try temporarily disconnecting from any additional WiFi networks while using WebLink.
